The MetroStars have placed rookie forward Rodrigo Faria on the Injured Reserve List with a small tear of the fascial tissue in his lower right leg.

Faria, 24, will be evaluated later this week for possible surgery to repair the small tear of the fascial tissue, which overlaps every muscle in the body.

The junior international is expected to be out of action for three weeks.

Faria joins forward Clint Mathis (torn R ACL), defender/midfielder Steve Shak (partial tear MCL, PCL, medial meniscus), and rookie Project 40 forward Martin Klinger (strained right hamstring) on the Injured Reserve List.

The Brazilian native is the team's second leading scorer with three goals and one assist in 12 games played.
